PM Meets with Schoolchildren from Border Communities

Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan called at the Academic Opera and Ballet Theater after A. Spendiaryan to meet with border community schoolchildren who have arrived in Yerevan from Syunik, Ararat, Tavush, Vayots-Dzor and Gegharkunik marzes under the newly introduced “Cultural Organization – School” subscription program.

The Head of Government talked to the pupils and answered their questions. Hovik Abrahamyan stressed the importance of programs like that and welcomed schoolchildren’s visits to cultural centers in Yerevan.

Stressing that border communities will be kept in focus ahead, Hovik Abrahamyan assured that the Government will continue implementing such projects as may promote community development and create new jobs. “We will do everything to provide you with safe schooling conditions,” the Prime Minister said.

The children’s parents thanked the Premier for facilitating the implementation of similar program and for sustained focus on border communities. According to them, emigration has decreased and living standards improved significantly owing to the Government’s latest initiatives and the benefits granted to border communities.

The schoolchildren have already visited several cultural facilities in Yerevan under the aforementioned program, including Komitas Museum, History Museum, Komitas Pantheon and the Armenian Choral Society Hall where they watched a concert by the Song and Dance Ensemble after Tatul Altunyan and A. Tigranyan’s “Anush” opera.
