PM Starts His Belarus Visit
Before the Minsk meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government had started, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko received the delegates, including the delegation headed by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
Greeting the guests, President Lukashenko said that the nations’ lineup around the CIS and the ongoing cooperation provide better conditions in terms of identifying new prospects for integration processes.
According to him, cooperation between the CIS-member States needs further deepening as it is in the best interest of our peoples. Stressing the importance of the CIS free trade zone agreement, the Belarusian President said there ought to be more agreements of this kind.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan had a private meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Mikhail Myasnikovich.
In tune with the arrangement made by the presidents of Armenia and Belarus, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of economic cooperation. In this context, they touched upon the import of Belarusian agricultural machinery into Armenia, export of agricultural products from Armenia to Belarus, cooperation between the technological parks of Belarus and Gyumri and cooperation in the high-tech sector, in general.
The two prime ministers talked about the possibility of proceeding with the production of Belarusian farming machinery in Armenia. They exchanged views on participation in the CIS integration process and exchange of know-how in the field of nuclear energy.
