Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan meets with ADB partners
Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan met with Asian Development Bank (ADB) Alternate Executive Director Karen Murray, who represents Armenia at the ADB Board, as well as with ADB Armenia Country Director Paolo Spantigati.
Welcoming the guests, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the cooperation with the ADB, particularly in terms of creating the right business culture and increasing transparency in Armenia. Mher Grigoryan presented to ADB Alternate Executive Director the main goals reflected in the Government’s Action Plan, pointing out the main areas of possible cooperation with the ADB.
Karen Murray noted that it’s an honor to represent Armenia at the ADB and emphasized that the main goal of the visit is to get acquainted with the priorities of the Government of Armenia.
Particularly, reference was made to the construction of the North-South highway, possible cooperation in the field of water and communication, as well as in the field of human capital development, in particular, the reforms envisaged in the field of education.
Both sides highlighted existing programs with ADB in the private sector, in this context, the importance of capital market development and energy cooperation was emphasized.
During the meeting with the head of ADB Armenia Office Paolo Spantigati, the details of the ongoing programs were discussed, the sides exchanged views on the steps taken by the Government in the field of transport infrastructure and healthcare, and cooperation with the ADB.
