The Government makes amendments to a number of programs implemented in the field of agriculture. More favorable conditions will be created, the circle of beneficiaries will be expanded
A regular Cabinet meeting took place today, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan.
The government has made amendments to a number of decisions on programs aimed at the development of the agricultural sector. Particularly, due to the need to make amendments in the program of subsidizing interest rates for agricultural loans, the Government has made a relevant decision. Accordingly, it is envisaged to set the amount of loans provided within the framework of the program at 3-15 million AMD (for all target areas). It is proposed to set target areas for providing loan: acquisition of bees, bee colonies, beehives, construction of livestock facilities, technological support, acquisition of livestock, poultry, rabbits, acquisition of fodder, seeds, seedlings, agricultural land, etc. The decision envisages providing the beneficiaries with the opportunity to change the target direction of the loan by submitting an application to the financial institution, to change the loan repayment period and the grace period, making it 3 years and 6 months, respectively.
Mher Grigoryan highlighted the implementation of the program and stressed the need to properly inform potential program beneficiaries about the planned regulations.
The Government made amendments to the procedure of providing monthly financial assistance for a period of 4 months to citizens who were displaced from the Artsakh Republic due to the war or lost their residential real estate in the Artsakh Republic. Accordingly, it is proposed to extend the terms of payment of assistance to the program beneficiaries until July 29, 2022 instead of December 17, 2021 and to extend the deadline for returning the unpaid money to the state budget until August 5, 2022 instead of December 21, 2021. The decision proposes to provide 40,000 AMD to children, people with 1st or 2nd group disabilities, and 20,000 AMD to other beneficiaries.
The Government approved the draft law "On Making Amendments to the Land Code of the Republic of Armenia." One of the goals of the bill is the reduction of the existing barriers in the field of construction and improvement of the business environment. As a result, the construction process will be simplified and further clarified, comprehensive implementation of the owners’ rigts will be ensured.
The Government approved the proposal to sign the agreement on providing a grant for financing the project "Energy Efficient Regions. Implementation of mechanisms aimed at increasing energy efficiency in public buildings and Support to the "Green Energy Development" program” from the recources of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development.
The agreement envisages providing a grant of 1 million 719 thousand 200 US dollars to Armenia from the Fund’s recources. One of the goals of the program is to increase the level of energy efficiency in 20 buildings of public importance (school, kindergarten, hospital) by 50%, which will lead to annual energy savings of 3,000 MW per hour and a reduction of 700 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year. It’s also envisaged to provide assistance for the establishment and development of energy service providers.
