RA Prime Minister Andranik Margaryan's Message for Second Pan
Dear Compatriots,
Dear Conference Participants,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
On behalf of the Government of Armenia and myself, I greet you on the opening of Armenia-Diaspora second economic conference.
I am happy that this key event is taking place in the framework of the 15th anniversary of Armenia's independence and is supposed to broaden and deepen economic cooperation between Armenia and Diaspora.
I believe that this conference will help get full idea of economic policies pursued in Armenia, familiarize with the reforms implemented so far by the government, inform on the forthcoming projects and offer the opportunity of thorough discussion of the problems faced.
Today the Armenian authorities have embraced such economic policy as aims the free market, fair competition, sustained economic growth- and public prosperity-oriented effective public governance.
The Government of Armenia has launched several development-oriented programs to help us provide favorable conditions for higher rates of economic growth in the medium term and on the long run. These programs focus on selected key areas as identified by the GoA.
Today the problem of overcoming poverty is as high on the international agenda as other challenges facing humanity and the Millenium goals. Unfortunately, it is a burning issue for Armenia, too. The Poverty Reduction Strategic Program, which was adopted 3 years ago
