Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan receives the newly appointed Ambassador of Germany
Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Armenia Victor Richter.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister congratulated the Ambassador on the appointment and wished him fruitful work, noting that the Government is ready to assist the Ambassador in the development of Armenian-German relations.
The interlocutors underlined the existence of unrealized potential of bilateral trade and economic relations and discussed possible directions for deepening cooperation between the two countries. In this context, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan presented the advantages of Armenia as an EEU member state and the opportunities arising from that fact for German business.
During the meeting, the German Ambassador stressed that there is a good basis for cooperation, relying on which it is possible to develop the partnership.
Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and Ambassador Victor Richter highlighted the activities of the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the KfW Development Bank in Armenia.
The reforms brought forward by the Armenian Government in the fields of healthcare, education and social protection were also discussed, within the framework of which the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted possible cooperation with German partners, in particular, the involvement of expert potential in the processes.
The sides also referred to regional developments and works on unblocking transport routes.
