A population census will be conducted on October 13-22, 2022․ The preparation process discussed under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Matevosyan
The sitting of the national commission on preparation and conduct of the 2022 census in the Republic of Armenia, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan, took place today.
It should be reminded that according to the Government decision, the census will be conducted from October 13 to 22, 2022.
During the sitting, the Statistical Committee presented information on the works of preparation and conduct of the 2022 census to the Commission for discussion. It was mentioned that the preparation of the 2022 census is organized in accordance with the guidelines and procedures of the UN and the Common Method of Conducting Census of 2020 of the UN Economic Commission for Europe by collecting the main indicators obtained from the state population register and the data defined by a sample survey of 25%.
The draft Census Program (questionnaire) was the second issue on the agenda.
Within five days after receiving the opinions and recommendations on the two issues and amending the questionnaire based on the recommendation formed as a result of the discussion of the Commission, the draft Census Program 2022 will be submitted for the Government’s approval, so that the census questionnaire be confirmed by the decision of the State Council on Statistics in the next stage.
