Arayik Harutyunyan gets acquainted with the improvement works of the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex
Today, the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan visited the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex, got acquainted with the construction, repair and improvement works carried out in the building of the complex for holding the European Boxing Championship and Eurovision Song Contest. Next year, another major sporting event is expected in Armenia: the European Weightlifting Championship.
According to the officials, as a result of the works launched on March 13 this year, the locker rooms and corridors near the concert and sports halls have already been repaired, and the balconies have been waterproofed. Cosmetic repairs have been carried out in the front parts of the complex building, in the roof of the main facade, in the areas adjacent to the roofs of the right and left wings, and in the exterior. The old elevators will be replaced in the near future, the saunas are in the renovation stage, all the showers and faucets will be replaced.
Arayik Harutyunyan underlined the timely implementation of the works and stressed that the international events to be held at the Sports and Concert Complex should be organized and held at a high level.
