Deputy Prime Minister Matevosyan participated in the final event of the "Support to the Implementation of Civil Service Reforms in Armenia" Twinning Program
The final event of the European Union’s Twinning Program "Support to the Implementation of the Civil Service Reforms of the Republic of Armenia" took place today with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan.
The Deputy Prime Minister welcomed everyone at the final event of the Twinning program, emphasizing that the program launched in 2020 was aimed at capacity building of the Civil Service Office and stakeholders, professional development of civil servants, increasing the attractiveness of the civil service system and establishing professional human resource management networks.
"You are aware that our Government has an ambitious but realistic agenda of public administration reforms. One of the important steps in this direction was the approval of the strategy and roadmap for the Public Administration Reform during the previous Cabinet meeting, the effective implementation of which will ensure the security and sustainable development of our country," said Hambardzum Matevosyan, adding that this project, implemented with the support of the European Union partners, is fully in line with the Government's agenda, bringing it closer to the final goal. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the Republic of Armenia has always attached importance to such cooperation, which was further strengthened after the entry into force of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement, which greatly fosters the implementation of the reforms undertaken by the Government of the Republic of Armenia. Hambardzum Matevosyan expressed confidence that bringing the European best practices closer will contribute to the strengthening of democracy, human rights, and the effective development of human capital. "The twinning program is a vivid example of this cooperation, which can also be a key factor in ensuring the continuity of Armenia-EU cooperation," the Deputy PM emphasized, expressing confidence both sides, the representatives of Armenia and the member states, did their best to make the program successful and to get the predicted results.
The Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin, the Ambassador of France to Armenia Anne Louis, the Ambassador of Finland to the South Caucasus Kirsty Narine, the Ambassador of Estonia to Armenia and Georgia Riina Kaljurand, head of the Civil Service Office Vache Kalashyan, and others participated and delivered remarks at the event organized by the European Union and the Civil Service Office of the Republic of Armenia.
