Deputy Prime Minister Matevosyan visits Lori Province, gets acquainted with the works carried out under subsidy programs










On July 2, Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan visited Vanadzor, Alaverdi, Tumanyan, Lori Berd, Stepanavan and Gyulagarak communities in the sidelines of his regular regional visit to Lori Province. Hambardzum Matevosyan got acquainted with the works carried out under subsidy programs, with state budget funds and with the support of the Asian Development Bank, and gave a number of instructions.

During the working visit, the Deputy Prime Minister was accompanied by Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan, Governor of Lori Aram Khachatryan, MP Aren Mkrtchyan, Executive Director of "Road Department" Foundation Gor Avetisyan, community heads, and others.

In Vanadzor community, Hambardzum Matevosyan visited the construction sites of the new building of the kindergarten No. 8 under construction, the 1 km road being renovated on Aghayan street, got acquainted with the progress of the works that started in 2021 under the subsidy programs, and then visited the park under reconstruction named after "Sayat Nova" in the same community, where the modernization works of the park with a total area of 43,000 square meters were presented to the Deputy PM.

The Deputy Prime Minister paid tribute to the memory of the heroes who died in the 44-day Artsakh war in Vanadzor's Solidarity Park.

Hambardzum Matevosyan's next stop was in Alaverdi and Tumanyan communities, where with the support of the Asian Development Bank, the 14.16 km long Sanahin station-Haghpat road has been repaired, including the two bridges bypassing Alaverdi city. The Deputy Prime Minister also visited the construction site of the Tumanyan-Sanahin station 9.69 km long road, where restoration and improvement works of the interstate highway are currently being carried out.

In Akner settlement of Alaverdi community, in the section leading to the Sanahin Monastery, in the course of 2022-2023, it is planned to repair the dilapidated road section selected for the development of tourism. Deputy Prime Minister Matevosyan also got acquainted with the works being carried out on that road section, after which he visited the Lori Berd community, where the 580-meter-long road paving works with tuff stone in Koghes settlement, which started in 2021, has been completed.

The last two stops of Hambardzum Matevosyan's visit to Lori Province were in Stepanavan and Gyulagarak communities, where within the framework of the road maintenance project, the bridge of Stepanavan city and the M-3 interstate road, as well as the bridge on Turkey border-Margara-Vanadzor-Tashir-Georgia border, M3 km 144-020 are being renovated. The works in the mentioned two communities have commenced, they will end in November 2022.


During his visit to the communities, Deputy Prime Minister Matevosyan also met with the local residents, talked with them about issues related to procurement, state support programs implemented in the field of agriculture, urging them to use the opportunity given by the state.
