Deputy Prime Minister Matevosyan discussed new perspectives of cooperation with Armenia Office Director of Asian Development Bank
On July 13, Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan received Paolo Spantigati, director of Armenia Office Director of the Asian Development Bank.
Kristine Ghalechyan, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures, also participated in the meeting.
Welcoming the guest, the Deputy Prime Minister attached importance to the continuous support provided by the Asian Development Bank to the Republic of Armenia, especially in the context of the reform agenda of the Government of Armenia.
In the framework of that cooperation, the program "Increasing the seismic resistance of school buildings" implemented by the Armenian Territorial Development Fund with the support of ADB, within the framework of which reinforcement and overhaul works of 46 school buildings are being carried out was considered noteworthy. The Deputy Prime Minister described it as a supporting component to the large-scale capital initiative "300 schools-500 kindergartens" launched by the Government Action Plan.
Hambardzum Matevosyan also highly appreciated ADB's involvement in the financing of infrastructure projects in Armenia, in particular, the implementation of key road construction projects such as the "North-South Road Corridor" and "Sustainable Urban Development" investment projects.
Director of Armenia Office Director of the Asian Development Bank Paolo Spantigati thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for the meeting and assessed the cooperation with the Armenian Government as productive.
During the conversation, the parties touched upon other issues of mutual interest and discussed new prospects for cooperation.
