Deputy PM Matevosyan meets with residents of the houses located in the landslide zone in the Voghjaberd settlement. They will be given a certificate of apartment purchase by Governemnt decision
During his visit to Katayk Province on August 26, Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan met with the residents of the residential houses with 4th and 5th degree damage in the landslide zone of Voghjaberd settlement of Garni community.
Let us remind that the Government, by the decision of July 7, 2022, provided 241 million 897 thousand AMD of financial support to the residents of 15 residential houses located in the landslide zone of Voghjaberd settlement for the purchase of an apartment through an apartment purchase certificate.
During the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister was accompanied by Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan, Governor of Kotayk Aharon Sahakyan, Chairman of the Urban Development Committee Armen Ghularyan, Head of Garni Community Tigran Poghosyan, Executive Director of the Armenian Territorial Development Fund Artur Soghomonyan, other officials.
During the conversation with the residents of Voghjaberd, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the Government, attaching importance to that the citizens should live in safe conditions, is determined to find a step by step solution to the issue.
The residents thanked the Government for responding to the problem that has been raised for years and for the decision to issue certificates for the purchase of apartment. During the conversation, the officials once again presented to the residents of Voghjaberd the procedures for receiving compensation and noted that just in a few days they will get the certificates, urging them to use it within the specified period.
During the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister also got acquainted with the progress of the construction works of the sub-project "Improvement of the area nein the vicinity of the Garni Temple" within the framework of the Local Economy and Infrastructure Development Project.
Executive Director of the Armenian Territorial Development Fund Artur Soghomonyan informed that it is the last of the four sub-projects implemented at the total cost of 3.4 billion AMD, adding that three of them have already been completed and handed over to the residents of the community.
Currently, the construction works of the sub-project "Improvement of the area in the vicinity of the Garni Temple" are underway, the cost is 551 million 945 thousand AMD, the completion of which is scheduled for December 2022. As a result, a parking lot will be created for cars transporting tourists, the sidewalks and the road leading to the Garni Temple and the new parking lot will be improved, the improved streets will be equipped with road signs, tourist signs and appropriate markings. It is also planned to improve the square near the fence of the Garni Temple, the observation platform, etc.
