Deputy Prime Minister Matevosyan participated in the event entitled "Gyumri Day-2022" and "Days of Yerevan in Gyumri"

Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan participated in the event titled "Gyumri Day-2022" and "Days of Yerevan in Gyumri" in Shirak Province on September 2.

The Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan, Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan, Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan, Shirak Governor Nazeli Baghdasaryan, Gyumri Community Head Vardges Samsonyan, governors of other provinces, other officials also participated in the event.

Before the start of the event, the Deputy Prime Minister lit a candle in the Cathedral of the Holy Mother of God (Yot verk) in Gyumri, then visited the Gyumri community exhibition hall operating as part of the "Kumayri" historical and cultural reserve-museum, got acquainted with the collections and exhibits kept there.

Hambardzum Matevosyan congratulated the residents of Gyumri on the day of the city in Vardanants Square during the event marking the end of "Gyumri Day" and "Days of Yerevan in Gyumri" celebrations, and noted:

"Dear residents of my hometown Gyumri,
Celebration of the Day of the City of Masters has already turned into a long-awaited and beloved tradition not only for the residents of Gyumri, but also for the residents of other regions of Armenia and residents of Yerevan.

What I said is evidenced by the fact that this year Gyumri Day is accompanied by the "Days of Yerevan in Gyumri" events.

Dear residents of Gyumri,

You are the real heroes of this holiday, you bring new color and breath to the city, convey optimism and high mood with your unique humor to the guests of the city, who leave Gyumri with the desire in mind to return.

Gyumri is pride and strength and due to that, after passing through so many trials, the residents of Gyumri are able to welcome everyone again with open arms and a smile.

Even today, in this period full of challenges, we are creating, adding new stones to the existing structures, building Armenia, thus showing our love for the motherland. Just two days ago, I was again in Shirak on a regional visit. We were touring at the active construction sites, in the "Friendship" park that is being improved, in the areas of the school, kindergarten, sports complex being built, roads being asphalted. I considered the day a success, especially after a conversation when I learned from a builder involved in the construction of the new school building that after years of working in other countries, he and his friends decided to return to their homeland and continue their work in Armenia.

I really want this case to be exemplary for others, so that the number of compatriots returning to Armenia, seeing and building their future in the motherland will increase year by year. We can achieve this through dedicated work, loving and preserving our land and water and building our homeland.

Dear residents of Gyumri,

I don't want to burden you with numbers and statistics on this day to show how much the Government attaches importance to balanced regional development, how much it attaches importance to providing a proper and dignified environment for our compatriots living in the regions. The clear evidence of this is the constructions taking place around you, the tourist flows that are increasing year by year and not only that.

Once again, I congratulate all of you on the occasion of Gyumri Day, wishing all of you health, success and optimism.
Happy holiday, dear Gyumri."

The event ended with a concert by the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra and "Reincarnation" Band.
