Deputy Prime Minister Matevosyan followed the progress of the works carried out with state budget funding in Gegharkunik Province








Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan paid a regional visit to Gegharkunik on September 7.

Accompanied by Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan and Gegharkunik Governor Karen Sargsyan, the Deputy Prime Minister toured a number of communities and got acquainted with the implementation of the projects.

Gor Avetisyan, Executive Director of the "Road Department" Foundation, Artur Soghomonyan, Executive Director of the Armenian Territorial Development Fund, and other officials also participated in the regional visit.

The Deputy Prime Minister visited "Sevani Ishkhan" CJSC operating as part of the “Fund for restoration of stocks of Sevan trout and development of aquaculture” in Karchaghbyur community, toured the company's fish production complex, got acquainted with the small fish production process and the production capacities of the factory. It should be noted that currently, in the small fish plant of "Sevani Ishkhan" CJSC, there is a parental composition of different age groups of Gegharkun and Summer fish species belonging to the two subspecies of Sevan trout, as well as experiments are also being carried out in the direction of developing artificial reproduction technologies of other fish species.

The next stop of the Deputy Prime Minister was at the construction site of the major repair works of the 14 km-long section of the M-10 Martuni-Geghhovit highway. The works implemented with the state budget funding are planned to be completed in 2023. According to the head of the "Road Department", the asphalting works of 6.4 km have already been completed․

Hambardzum Matevosyan then visited Geghhovit community, where secondary school No. 2 is being built. It is implemented by the Առմենիան Territorial Development Fund within the framework of the "Seismic Safety Improvement Program". At present, the concrete and reinforced concrete works of the foundation and the first floor of the building are underway. Construction started in 2021 and is scheduled to be completed in 2023.

Armen Nazaryan, Deputy Minister of Health, welcomed the Deputy PM in Martuni community and presented details of the progress of the construction of the "Martuni Medical Center" building, which is being built with the state budget funding. At present, the works of the building's foundation and boiler house have been completed, the construction of partitions, roofing, interior decoration, exterior cladding, and construction of external and internal engineering networks are in progress.
Deputy Prime Minister Matevosyan's next stop was in Gavar, at the construction site of the republican highway, which is under major repair with the funds of the state budget.
The length of the road under repair is 3.4 km. It is planned to carry out works on the foundation of the carriageway and the two-layer asphalt concrete cover, the internal drainage system, and the construction of sidewalks. In the conversation with the builder, the Deputy Prime Minister made a number of remarks about the already finished works. the builder promised to correct the noted defects before commissioning.

Hambardzum Matevosyan also visited St. Astvatsatsin Church in Gavar, the tiling and improvement works of the surrounding of which are being carried out within the framework of subsidy programs. The works will be completed in November 2022.
The Vicar of Gegharkunik Diocese His Holiness T. Parthev Barseghyan received the Deputy Prime Minister in the Holy Astvatsatsin Church and highly appreciated the implementation of such projects aimed at the development of communities, the improvement works of the roads leading to shrines, considering it the result of effective cooperation with the Government, regional and municipal authorities.

Hambardzum Matevosyan also visited the memorial eternalizing the memory of those who died in the Artsakh wars located in Tsovinar settlement, paid tribute and laid flowers in memory of the Armenians who sacrificed their lives for the motherland.
