Deputy Prime Minister Matevosyan receives the Ambassador of France to Armenia



On October 13, Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Republic of Armenia Anne Louyot.

Welcoming the Ambassador, Deputy Prime Minister Matevosyan highly appreciated the dynamics of bilateral relations, which is manifested both by high-level political dialogue and active cooperation in different directions. Referring to the Armenian-French economic cooperation framework defined by the 2021-2026 road map, the Deputy Prime Minister particularly emphasized the importance of the volume of French investments in Armenia and the activation of trade and economic cooperation.

Among a number of issues of mutual interest, Ambassador Louyot also referred to the possibilities of further strengthening of the Armenian-French interregional cooperation. In this context, Anne Louyot highlighted the results of the fourth Armenian-French decentralized cooperation forum held in Lyon, France on September 29-30, including the emerging cooperation between the Syunik Province and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France.

Referring to the large-scale aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia on September 13, the Deputy Prime Minister praised the addressed and impartial statements of France, attaching great importance to France's efforts to establish peace in the region, including as a Co-chair country of the OSCE Minsk Group.
