Hambardzum Matevosyan chairs 1st session of the management board of the project implemented in cooperation with the French Development Agency
Chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan, the 1st session of the management board of the project “Development of Irrigated Agriculture in the Ararat and Armavir Provinces” implemented in cooperation with the French Development Agency took place.
Welcoming the participants of the session, Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan highly appreciated the continuous cooperation between the Government of Armenia and the French Development Agency aimed at the effective implementation of the reforms of the Government of Armenia in the field of irrigation. During the session, current issues of project implementation were discussed, as well as the results of the international competition for the selection of the project operator were approved by the management committee.
It should be noted that the 10 million euro grant program for the development of irrigated agriculture in Ararat and Armavir Provinces is aimed at supporting the development of irrigation systems in accordance with modern requirements, promoting the use of water-saving technologies and improving irrigation infrastructures, effective use of water resources as a result of land consolidation, as well as providing advisory services and ensuring access to new financial tools for farmers.
