Hambardzum Matevosyan attends event dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Investment Council of Armenia established with the support of the EBRD

Today, Deputy Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan attended the event dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Investment Council of Armenia established with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Catarina Bjorlin Hansen, EBRD Regional Director for the Caucasus, Hakob Arshakyan, Deputy President of the National Assembly, Ministers of Economy and High-tech Industry, John Gallagher, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Armenia, and others also participated in the event.
Welcoming the participants of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the format of the Investment Council supported by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in a number of countries, including Armenia, as an effective platform for making the voice of the private sector heard in the policy-making process.

Referring to the role of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Council as an institutional unit, which has been operating since 2012, the Deputy Prime Minister noted that the Council, along with maintaining an open and regular dialogue with the business community, was actively involved in the development of more than two dozen legislative reforms aimed at the economic development of Armenia and the improvement of the SME environment with its technical and advisory support.

Emphasizing the need to jointly develop solutions to problems hindering the development of the private sector, the Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed the Government's readiness to continue active cooperation in this direction.
