Arayik Harutyunyan receives the leadership of the European Weightlifting Federation (EWF)
Arayik Harutyunyan, Chief of the Prime Minister's Staff, chairman of the interdepartmental commission for the preparation and organization of the European Weightlifting Championship 2023, received the President of the European Weightlifting Federation (EWF) Antonio Conflitti and Secretary General Milan Mihajlovic.
The interlocutors discussed the course of preparations for the European Adult Weightlifting Championship to be held in Yerevan for the first time in April this year.
Arayik Harutyunyan thanked the leadership of the European Weightlifting Federation (EWF) for entrusting our country with the organization of a tournament of such significance and noted that the Armenian Government will make every effort to hold the tournament at a high level. It was emphasized that all necessary infrastructures are available for this.
Antonio Conflitti, for his part, noted that they visited the Sports and Concert Complex and are impressed by the conditions and opportunities available there.
The European Adult Weightlifting Championship will be held at Yerevan’s K. Demirchyan Sport and Concert Complex. The opening ceremony will take place on April 14, and the tournament on April 15-23.
The European Weightlifting Championship will be qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
