Deputy Prime Minister Khachatryan receives the Ambassador of the United Kingdom



Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan received John Gallagher, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Republic of Armenia.

"Honorable Mr. Ambassador, we attach great importance to the continuous support of the United Kingdom in the implementation of sectoral reforms in Armenia and we can record with satisfaction the positive dynamics in the Armenian-British bilateral relations," the Deputy Prime Minister specially emphasized in his speech. Tigran Khachatryan also presented to the Ambassador the humanitarian situation created in Nagorno-Karabakh resulted by the blocking of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan.

Congratulating Deputy Prime Minister Khachatryan on his appointment and wishing him fruitful work in his new position, the Ambassador said that the United Kingdom is closely following and highly appreciating the reforms implemented by the Armenian government.

At the meeting, the parties referred to the cooperation between the "Good Governance Fund" and the Investment Council of Armenia, which serves as a public-private dialogue platform between the Government of Armenia and associations of small and medium enterprises, discussed the development of Armenian-British trade, establishment of business ties, as well as issues related to the possibilities of expanding the trade turnover of the two countries.
