The works for organization of the international summit "The role of women in promoting democracy, peace and security" discussed at Government
Chaired by Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan, the meeting of the interdepartmental committee coordinating the works for the organization of the international summit "The role of women in promoting democracy, peace and security" was held today in the Government.
Anna Hakobyan, Prime Minister's wife, also participated in the meeting, on whose initiative the summit will be hosted in Yerevan on October 19-20. The event is held in partnership with the Global Network of Women Political Leaders. Anna Hakobyan presented details about the preparatory works. It was noted that according to preliminary data, active participation in the summit is expected.
The summit will have the components of a plenary session and workshops. Discussions are planned on challenges and opportunities for women's participation in democratic processes, women's contribution to peace and security, problems of women affected by conflicts and other related topics.
The members of the committee discussed a number of issues related to the summit.
