The Sports and Concert Complex is our trump card for hosting various events. Arayik Harutyunyan
Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan attended the event dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex in Yerevan.
Arayik Harutyunyan congratulated everyone on this important day and noted. "My friends and colleagues will not allow me to lie, every time I enter this building, I want to talk to Karen Demirchyan in my mind, because I can't imagine how in the 1970s and 80s such an idea could emerge to create a 21-century structure.
And this is recorded not only by us, but also by the representatives of all the international organizations with whom we hold big events here. You know that after 40 years, the European Weightlifting Championship took place in this building. I say after 40 years because this building was actually being built in the early 1980s to host the European and World Weightlifting Championships, which, unfortunately, were moved from Armenia to Moscow.
Basically, after 40 years, the dream of all the authors, including Karen Demirchyan, came true and this building hosted that great event, which was brilliantly held, because we had such an infrastructure. We also held the European Boxing Championship here", the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister stated that sports and music events are held at a high level in the complex, and this is also thanks to this structure and infrastructure.
According to him, the Sports and Concert Complex is our trump card in all our bids to host a particular event. "And I once again congratulate everyone on this occasion. The Government has already done a lot of work in the direction of modernizing these infrastructures, but we also have other works that we must implement in the next few years, and the complex will be presented in a new, already modernized form to our guests and the Armenian people," said Arayik Harutyunyan.
By the decree of the President of the Republic, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the foundation of the Sports and Concert Complex named after Karen Demirchyan, architects Hrach Poghosyan and Grigor Azizyan were awarded the Anania Shirakatsi Medal for their significant contribution to the development of architecture and urban development and their long-term effective activity, head of the maintenance service of the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex Tsolak Sargsyan was awarded the Medal for "Work Merit".
By the decision of the Prime Minister of Armenia, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the foundation of the Sports and Concert Complex named after Karen Demirchyan, the director of the Sports and Concert Complex named after Karen Demirchyan, Karen Ghazaryan, was awarded with the commemorative medal of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia for his conscientious and efficient work.
The awards were presented by the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan.
At the same time, Karen Ghazaryan awarded the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister with a commemorative medal dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex.
