Every third of those forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh are minors. The government is taking steps to ensure children's continuing education

As of 15:00, 50,243 forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno Karabakh crossed the Hakari bridge. The state took care of the accommodation of 5,700 people, which is about 11 percent of the total number of the persons who crossed the border, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, press secretary of the Prime Minister, announced during the regular press conference held at the "Humanitarian Center" of the government of Armenia. She also noted that as of now, 74 more medical patients have been transferred to the Republic of Armenia. their total number is 311.

Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan also presented the work being done in the field of education, noting that the right to education is also of primary importance. "We must also take steps without wasting time to ensure children's continuing education. As of now, 100 citizens have applied to schools in different regions. Our schools are ready for this process, a guidance has been sent out with clear instructions on how to organize the process. In particular, there won't be any documentary obstacles," said the minister.

According to Zhanna Andreasyan, regulations are planned for all cases when children will need additional support. "We will carry out this work with specialized structures operating in the field. We have regional pedagogical and psychological support centers, all specialists are ready. Training programs for teachers will also be launched from next week so that they can create an appropriate environment for children in this situation."

According to the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport, the number of forcibly displaced children from Nagorno-Karabakh is large. "We can say that based on the data of the registered citizens, every third of those forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh are minors. This naturally means that we will have a lot to do in schools in this regard. We cooperate with civil society organizations operating in the field to implement additional programs. You know the children there have been out of the educational process for a while. We are also planning a separate program for NK teachers. As of September 1, 2023, 108 public educational institutions with about 21,000 students were operating in Nagorno-Karabakh. The number of teachers is 1500. I think that our system will be ready to involve these teachers in all necessary directions," said the minister, adding that all new necessary programs and initiatives will be developed according to the emerging needs.

Zhanna Andreasyan also referred to the issue of organizing the studies of university students in Armenia and noted that regulations will be developed to smoothly implement the process.

Issues related to ensuring the activities of cultural and sports organizations in Armenia are also discussed. In particular, 11 sports schools with 3000 sportsmen were operating in Nagorno-Karabakh.
