Mobile teams of the Ministry of Health will visit forcibly displaced persons for primary medical examination, needs inventory and referral to primary health care facilities
Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan and Prime Minister's Press Secretary Nazeli Baghdasaryan presented from the Government's "Humanitarian Center" the measures that the Armenian government is implementing to meet the humanitarian needs of people forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh.
According to Nazeli Baghdasaryan, the latest data regarding the number of forcibly displaced people from Nagorno Karabakh remains the same: 100,632. The number of registered and identified persons is 99,342. 73,543 of the persons who arrived in Armenia are accommodated in different regions of Armenia. The distribution by regions is as follows: Aragatsotn: 3771, Ararat: 17139, Armavir: 7728, Gegharkunik: 5097, Lori: 4477, Kotayk: 20694, Shirak: 3449, Syunik: 5762, Vayots Dzor: 2370, Tavush: 3056.
Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan presented information about the persons who were transferred to Armenia and are receiving treatment in various medical centers of the capital as a result of military operations and explosion in Nagorno Karabakh. Accordingly, their number is 319. The condition of 117 of them is assessed as serious, 14 as extremely serious. There is also a positive dynamic, and some patients have been transferred from the intensive care unit to wards, there are also discharged persons. 5 children are in the intensive care unit, 3 children have been transferred to the ward due to the improvement of their condition, 1 infant has been discharged.
According to the minister, the registration of medical workers continues, so that it is possible to organize their training, certification process to fill the vacancies in Armenia as quickly as possible. According to the latest data, 216 people have already applied. Currently, there are vacancies for 273 senior health workers and 59 paramedical workers. These vacancies are presented in detail on the official website of the Ministry of Health.
Anahit Avanesyan also noted that the work of mobile teams started today. That is, mobile teams will make visits, perform primary medical examination, collect necessary information to assess needs and subsequently lead to more targeted solutions. The mobile teams will also perform a referral function, as all health services are available to forcibly displaced persons under the state order, but referrals to primary care clinics and outpatient clinics are crucial for these mechanisms to operate. To date, 11,000 forcibly displaced persons have been referred to primary health care facilities, making both routine health care and medication provision possible. Psychologists are also involved in mobile teams.
The Prime Minister's press secretary reminded that the Ministry of Finance has opened a treasury account for donations in any currency by tose living in Armenia and abroad. The treasury account number is 900005002762.
According to Nazeli Baghdasaryan, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs received more than 63,000 applications on the primary needs registration platform. Through the Ministry's workforall.am website, it is possible to find more than 4,500 vacancies to which persons forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh can apply.
