Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan receives the delegation led by the Head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs
Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan received the delegation headed by Mohan Ramesh Rajasingham, Head and Representative of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Geneva.
Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan and Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan also participated in the meeting.
Deputy Prime Minister Khachatryan expressed concern about the visit of the delegation led by the UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan to Nagorno Karabakh and the published press release, stressing that its format and content did not meet the expectations of the Armenian side regarding the UN interdepartmental fact-finding mission. It was emphasized that such a delayed visit could only record the consequences of Azerbaijan's policy of ethnic cleansing of the people of Nagorno Karabakh.
The Deputy Prime Minister presented in detail the works implemented in the direction of short-term, medium-term and long-term programs aimed at addressing the primary needs of forcibly displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh.
The health, social, psychological and other needs of the most vulnerable groups - children, women, elderly, medical patients - were presented, expressing the hope that the UN agencies will show active involvement in the process of responding to them.
