Arayik Harutyunyan participates in the panel discussion "Smart Citizen"
Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan today participated in the "Smart Citizen" panel discussion, which took place within the framework of the "Silicon Mountains 2023" annual international technology summit.
Diana Kiguradze, Regional Manager of Visa in the Caucasus, Alyona Strattan, First Deputy President of MAIB, Isabel Pollard, Vice President of Global Business Development for IDEMIA Citizen Identity Market, Director of Synopsys Armenia, Hovik Musayelyan also took part in the panel discussion. The moderator of the discussion was Bagrat Yengibaryan, director of the "Enterprise Incubator Foundation”.
The speakers covered topics such as e-governance, digital citizenship and social media, talked about how they can be used to create smarter and more interconnected communities, presented their views on how technology is transforming citizens’ interaction with each other, with the government and the surrounding world.
Regarding the above-mentioned topics, the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister specifically noted that there was a smart citizen both in the prehistoric and in the middle ages, the difference is that the tools that today's citizens use to make progress are digital. According to Arayik Harutyunyan, the secret of having a smart citizen is in the educational system, which tries to adapt and dictate new trends and priorities, both now and in the past.
Speaking about adapting the educational system to new situations, the Chief of the Prime Minister's Staff noted that the citizen should not be overloaded with information, but should be shown which of the many sources of information is the right one to use.
Speaking about the introduction of new standards in the field of public education, Arayik Harutyunyan emphasized that the goal of these standards is to develop the three pillars "Education, Protection, Respect", because, according to him, without them the society and an intelligent citizen will feel discomfort in the modern world.
Within the scope of the topic, the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister also answered the questions of the attendees.
