101,848 people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh registered and identified
Head of the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Armen Ghazaryan, and Prime Minister's Press Secretary, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, presented from the "Humanitarian Center" of the government the programs of the Armenian government aimed at solving the humanitarian problems of people forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh. Clarifications were also presented regarding some questions received on various social platforms.
Nazeli Baghdasaryan noted that 15,264 children forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh were enrolled in the schools of the regions of Armenia and Yerevan. The distribution is as follows: 4,736 in Yerevan, 2,816 in Kotayk, 2,083 in Ararat, 1,295 in Armavir, 892 in Lori, 721 in Gegharkunik, 708 in Aragatsotn, 633 in Shirak, 588 in Syunik, 471 inTavush, 321 in Vayots Dzor.
The press secretary of the Prime Minister reminded that the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport has already launched the platform https://kadrer.emis.am, where all the information about teaching vacancies is available. "On this platform, you can specify the region of your location, as well as your specialization, after which you can get acquainted with the relevant vacancies available. And if you still haven't decided where to rent an apartment, this circumstance can also play a guiding role. There is no competition for these vacancies, that is, they are referred by the ministry, which implies an additional payment of 30 percent," said Nazeli Baghdasaryan.
Head of the Migration and Citizenship Service, Armen Ghazaryan, provided clarifications regarding the suspension of the registration process in electronic databases. "Since October 17, we have stopped the direct entry of personal data from 64 humanitarian centers operating in the territory of Armenia into the centralized database. In fact, the vast majority of forcibly displaced people are already registered. We have registered and identified data of 101 848 forcibly displaced persons from NK, of which 48 964 are male and 52 884 are female. In all other cases, forcibly displaced persons can approach local self-government bodies, in the case of Yerevan, district administrations, in the case of regions, community administrations, and present their data. These data will be printed in a paper version, and then transferred to the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where, after additional studies, comparison and adjustment with other databases, the new data will be entered into the database on forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh. We had set a deadline of October 25th. Accordingly, we call on our compatriots who were forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh to be registered in the territory of the republic, wherever they are, by October 25, if for some reason they have not been registered yet. We know that the number of such persons is quite small," said Armen Ghazaryan.
The head of the Migration and Citizenship Service also informed that 12,404 of those registered are people aged 65 and over, 30,000 are under 19 years old.
Referring to persons without documents, Armen Ghazaryan noted that their number is not very large. "Passport service departments have been instructed to serve our compatriots forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh in an emergency mode. There is an electronic queuing platform for using passport services in Yerevan, but this does not apply to people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh. We are trying to identify persons with all possible options, even in case of damage, loss of documents, etc., to restore documents, in case of impossibility of restoration, to provide temporary documents for the period until other additional circumstances are brought out and complete restoration of documents is carried out," the head of the Migration and Citizenship Service emphasized.
