Applications for 50,000 AMD support for the months of November and December are being accepted from today
Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Vache Terteryan, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Tatevik Stepanyan and Press Secretary of the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Manucharyan presented the measures of the Armenian government aimed at solving the humanitarian problems of people forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh during a briefing held at the "Humanitarian Center".
Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Tatevik Stepanyan presented data on the services intended for children in a difficult life situation, single elderly people, disabled people, women considered to be especially vulnerable groups as a result of forced displacement, pregnant women, and girls. Accordingly, at the moment, 83 elderly people are receiving care in six round-the-clock care facilities, 17 of them are from the Stepanakert nursing home, 50 are single. As of September 24, 10 children, 5 girls and 5 boys, aged 1 to 17, living in Stepanakert boarding house were also transferred to a round-the-clock care facility on September 25. All children have biological parents.
Tatevik Stepanyan also informed that the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs provides services to the elderly through many certified organizations and representatives of the public sector, both in the form of home care and in day care centers. People with disabilities also receive services depending on their status. According to the deputy minister, measures are also carried out for children left without parental care, according to which the community appoints a guardian or trustee for these children.
Zaruhi Manucharyan referred to the decision approved at today's Cabinet meeting, according to which another 500 million AMD was allocated for one-time support of 100,000 AMD. She informed that 104,200 people have already benefited from the program, the data of 3,800 people have already been processed and they will receive support after the allocation of the 500 million AMD.
The press secretary of the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs noted that the data of about 800 people who were transferred to Armenia for medical assistance and study as a result of the closure of the Lachin Corridor have been transferred and are being processed.
Zaruhi Manucharyan informed that 40+10 thousand AMD were paid to 99,820 people during the month of October. The press secretary of the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs emphasized that this includes the payments made this week (7,295 people were paid this week). Within the framework of 40+10 thousand AMD support, the acceptance of applications for November and the following months continues. Applications are accepted through the website socservice.am. Zaruhi Manucharyan informed that starting today, applications for two-month support of 50,000 AMD for the months of November and December are also accepted. The website will be published in the next few hours.
Vache Terteryan, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, noted that as of October 5, around 10,000 people were staying in guest houses and hotels, and as of today, thanks to AMD 40+10,000 support, there are only 1,143 people in hotels and guest houses.
Vache Terteryan informed that as of today, the Government has allocated around 3.4 billion AMD to the regional administrations, in addition, 579 million AMD have been allocated to the Syunik regional administration. These amounts are intended for the implementation of housing, food, and certain basic necessities for the displaced persons. The Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure noted that 83.2 percent of the given money has been actually spent.
"We also continue the implementation of works related to humanitarian cargo, in particular, I would like to note that the humanitarian cargo transferred to us from Poland, Romania, various organizations, including Russian-based businessmen, Austria, Germany, Lithuania, Finland, Argentina are being stored in the prescribed manner… I would like to separately mention the humanitarian cargo provided by the Islamic Republic of Iran, which was allocated to the Syunik Governorate," said Vache Terteryan, adding that the goods are distributed to the communities based on needs.
