Arayik Harutyunyan awards Vagharshak Keyan, the winner of the Junior World Boxing Championship
On December 3, Chief of the Prime Minister's Staff Arayik Harutyunyan watched the fights of the Junior World Boxing Championship in the Mika Sports Complex.
On December 3, 3 representatives of Armenia entered the ring at the World Junior Boxing Championship, which is coming to an end in Yerevan.
Vagharshak Keyan, the two-time champion of Europe in the 48 kg weight class, won the final with a score of 4:1 over the representative of Germany and became the winner of the Junior World Championship. In the third round, Keyan knocked down his opponent. Keyan won still the only gold medal of the Armenian team at the championship in Yerevan.
Arayik Harutyunyan handed over the awards to the 48 kg weight category winners.
Aren Kharatyan, a member of the youth boxing team of Armenia, took the second place, losing to the representative of Kyrgyzstan in the final of the 52 kg category, getting the silver medal.
The other representative of Armenia, two-time European champion, 16-year-old Samvel Siramargyan also won a silver medal, losing to his Polish competitor in the final of the 70 kg category.
Today, December 4, Heghine Petrosyan (48 kg), Arno Darchinyan (46 kg), Tigran Hovsepyan (50 kg), Andranik Martirosyan (60 kg), Argishti Hakobyan (66 kg) and Albert Harutyunyan (75 kg) will fight for the title of the winner of the World Championship. The competitions will start at 15:00.
