Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan participated in the reception organized on the occasion of Japan's public holiday, the Emperor’s Birthday.

Congratulating on the holiday, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Japan, the two countries succeeded in developing mutually beneficial cooperation based on the spirit of friendship and common values. The Deputy Prime Minister expressed confidence that the Armenian-Japanese friendship will continue to strengthen for the benefit of both countries.

"Armenia attaches great importance to the further strengthening of friendly relations with Japan based on mutual respect and trust, highly appreciating Japan's contribution to the development of sustainable peace and democracy in our region and throughout the world. In this regard, I would like to particularly emphasize the constructive role and balanced position of Japan in the context of the settlement of existing security problems in our region", noted Mher Grigoryan.

The Deputy Prime Minister thanked the Government of Japan for the humanitarian assistance aimed at addressing the needs of forcibly displaced people from Nagorno Karabakh, as well as for years of support for the development of democratic institutions, disaster prevention, environmental capacity and human resources.
