The Government declares a disaster zone in a number of communities of Tavush and Lori regions
As a result of the emergency situation due to the floods caused by the heavy rains that fell on May 25-26, 2024, the government has declared disaster zones in a number of communities of Lori and Tavush regions and defined their areas.
By the May 27 decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia, it was established that the organization of the main measures for the protection of the population defined by Article 5, Part 1 of the Law "On the Protection of the Population in Emergency Situations" in the areas of the disaster zones is carried out by the operational working group set up by the decision of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia No. 492-А of May 26.
According to the decision, the head of the operative working group will organize the implementation of the necessary basic measures for the protection of the population defined by Article 5, Part 1 of the Law "On the Protection of the Population in Emergency Situations".
According to another decision of the government, 300 million AMD will be allocated to the two regions to solve urgent problems.
