Entrepreneurs will be offered an affordable mechanism for introducing hail protection networks
The regular Cabinet meeting took place today, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan.
The Government adopted a decision aimed at reducing the damage received from hail for the entrepreneurs operating in the settlements located in the most active zones of hail, stabilizing the incomes of businessmen and increasing the efficiency of horticulture. According to the substantiation, in during the Prime Minister's visit to Lori region in 2023, the residents of Odzun settlement raised the issue of hail damage in the community, in connection with which the Prime Minister had instructed to consider the issues of supporting the people (entrepreneurs) affected by hail in the settlement, as well as implementing a program of introducing hail protection nets in the most hail-risk areas.
Thus, through state support, an affordable mechanism for introducing hail protection nets will be proposed for businessmen operating in settlements located in the most active hail zones. In particular, it is suggested that, in addition to the credit component of the current support program for the introduction of the hail protection net, a partial compensation of costs should also be applied to small farms and the actual compensation for the implementation of the hail protection nets in the 0.5-3 ha perennial plantations of the 270 settlements in the most active hail zones in the amount of 75% of the costs incurred.
