Arayik Harutyunyan attends the International Weightlifting Federation Congress. The 2027 World Championships will be held in Armenia
At the invitation of the Secretary General of the Olympic Committee of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Faris Mustafa Al-Quheji, the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister, Arayik Harutyunyan, who is in Manama, attended the International Weightlifting Federation Congress yesterday.
The document signed during the Congress enshrined Armenia's right to organize the World Championship and bilateral obligations during the 2027 World Championship.
In his speech, the Chief of Staff expressed gratitude to the President of the International Weightlifting Federation Mohammed Jalood, Secretary General Antonio Urso, and other members of the Executive Committee for providing Armenia with such an opportunity. It was noted that, in fact, Armenia will become a major sports center in 2027, since in addition to the World Weightlifting Championship, Yerevan will host the Francophonie Games, the European Gymnastics Championship, etc., and invited the participants of the Congress to spend those days in the capital of Armenia, Yerevan.
