We saw competitiveness, unity and brotherhood at the Pan-Armenian Winter Games. Arayik Harutyunyan
The Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Chairman of the Governmental Organizing Committee for the Pan-Armenian Games Arayik Harutyunyan attended the closing ceremony of the second Pan-Armenian Winter Games in Jermuk today. The event was also attended by the President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan, the Governor of Vayots Dzor region Kolya Mikaelyan, the Mayor of Jermuk Vahagn Arsenyan, members of the Executive Committee of the “World Committee of the Pan-Armenian Games” NGO, and members of the Organizing Committee.
Arayik Harutyunyan welcomed those present and noted: "Honestly, I did not expect the second Winter Games to turn into such a bright holiday, because during the opening speech I said how difficult that decision was for us. But, I think, when we were making that decision two years ago, it was a success. It was a success because in all the games we saw competitiveness, in all the games we saw unity, in all the games we saw brotherhood. Each such event is an opportunity for us to develop our capabilities, because you know that Armenia will host major sporting events, especially in recent years and in the coming years," said Arayik Harutyunyan, adding that in 2027 Armenia will host the Pan-Armenian Games, the Francophonie Games and a number of other major events.
The Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister also thanked the residents of Vayots Dzor, especially the city of Jermuk, for this hospitality. "I think that Jermuk received a new title, and Jermuk will henceforth be remembered as the capital of the second Pan-Armenian Winter Games, just as Olympic cities are remembered," Arayik Harutyun summed up his speech.
