Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan chairs SME Development Council session
The regular session of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Council was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan. At the beginning of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister welcomed the new members who joined the Council as a result of the rotation of organizations representing the interests of the business community, wishing them productive work.
Then, a detailed reference was made to the work carried out within the framework of the Council in 2024, including the results recorded in improving the existing legal regulations. Referring to the state-private cooperation in the format of the SME Development Council, Tigran Khachatryan emphasized the importance of monitoring the impact of the regulations formed as a result of that cooperation in order to assess their significance in terms of improving the business and investment environment.
During the meeting, a number of issues related to the development of small and medium enterprises and the general investment environment were discussed, including the interrelationship between working hours and labor productivity, as well as the transition from special taxation systems to a general taxation system.
The SME Development Council, headed by the Deputy Prime Minister, is professionally supported by the EBRD Armenia Investment Council, with the support of the UK Government’s Good Governance Foundation.
