Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan meets with the CEO of the French Development Agency





Within the framework of the working visit of the delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan to France, the Deputy Prime Minister met with the CEO of the French Development Agency (AFD) Rémy Rioux.

At the beginning of the meeting, Tigran Khachatryan emphasized the special role of the French Development Agency in the process of continuous expansion and deepening of bilateral multi-sectoral cooperation with France. Referring to the effective cooperation established over the years, the Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the role of the French Development Agency in the implementation of the Armenian Government's reform agenda, including improving the public finance management system, introducing more transparent mechanisms for financing and managing the private sector, and in a number of other important areas.

The interlocutors also highlighted the effective cooperation established in the development of infrastructure. In this context, the progress of the construction of the Vedi reservoir and irrigation system was discussed, both sides emphasizing the importance of commissioning the reservoir this year.

Highly appreciating the close cooperation established with the Republic of Armenia in this direction, the CEO of the French Development Agency reaffirmed the agency’s readiness to participate in important infrastructure projects.

At the end of the meeting, in addition to a wide range of issues related to current cooperation, the interlocutors also exchanged views on possible new directions of cooperation. In this context, an agreement was reached to launch working meetings in the coming months to develop the Armenia-AFD strategic partnership action plan for 2026-2027.
