Works to organize the COP17 conference continue
As part of the organization and holding of the COP17 conference in Armenia, Astrid Shoemaker, Executive Secretary of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity, was in Armenia from March 3-7.
As part of the official visit, Ms. Shoemaker met with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan, and Minister of Environment Hakob Simidyan.
Meetings and visits were held with the Chairman of the COP17 Organizing Committee, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Hambardzum Matevosyan. Discussions were held with colleagues from the bodies involved in the organization and holding of COP17.
Astrid Shoemaker also met with members of the COP17 Organizing Committee, ambassadors accredited in the Republic of Armenia, representatives of embassies and international organizations.
The importance of COP17, the scope of possible cooperation with international partners, and further steps were discussed during the visit.
