Mr. Koriun L. Atoyan was appointed RA Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy by Prime Minister A. Margaryan's decision.
Biographic details
Mr. Koriun Atoyan was born at Berd village of Tavish Marz on February 16, 1956. In 1974-1979, he studied at the Yerevan Institute of National Economy. After taking the first academic degree, he was engaged in post-graduate studies following which he worked as an engineer at the R&D Institute of Construction Economics. In the period between 1982-1985, he took a post-graduate course at a similar institute in Moscow, defended his thesis and was given a degree of M.Sc. of Economics. Then he worked at the Yerevan branch of the above institute and held various posts of responsibility. In 1988, he was appointed as head of a department at the State Construction Directorate of Armenia. In 1991, Mr. Atoyan was nominated manager of Nor Nork students' estate under RA Ministry of Education and Science. In 1994, he was engaged in doctoral studies at the Moscow State Construction University and received the doctorate upon defense of a doctoral thesis in 1996. From December 1998 to February 1999, he was employed at the Prime Minister's Monitoring Department. In 1999-2000, he worked as head of department at the Ministry of State Revenue of the Republic of Armenia and in 2000-2001 - as analyst-economist at the Analytical-Information Center for Economic Reforms. From March, 2001 until his latest appointment he worked as head of department at RA Ministry of Finance and Economy. He has the title of a real member of the Russian Academy of Engineering and Economy.
Mr. Koriun Atoyan is a member of the Republican Party of Armenia.
He is married and has 2 children.
