Today RA government commission on coordination of charitable programs has met, presided at by commission chairman S. Ter-Simonyan.
The commission has examined 10 charitable programs. Among others, it has approved the "Hayastan" Panarmenian Fund-financed projects concerning the capital repairs to be operated in the secondary school of Togh village of Hadrut region of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, construction planning for the Togh - Hadrut gas-main section and the nine-year school of Akaku village, re-design and capital repair of the Hadrut municipal hospital.
The "Free medical services for children," "Detection, checkups, treatment and supply of drugs to children suffering from the periodic disease" and "Free distribution of hearing aids" programs will be carried out by "Howard Karagezyan" charity fund. Another program referred to as "Repair of children's infectious hospital and construction of an anti-tuberculosis clinic in Gyumri town" will be implemented by the Gyumri branch of "Unanimity between the protestant churches of France and Armenia" charitable organization.
The commission has similarly endorsed the "Economic Development and Sustained Education" program to be carried out jointly by the American University of Armenia and the US-based AUA Fund, as well as the "Tigran" charity-implemented environmental program concerning the regulation of the ecosystem of Lake Sevan.
The commission has also examined a series of follow-up projects under the previously approved ones, as well as programs of import of charitable freight addressed to various organizations operational in Armenia.
