Today RA government commission for coordination of charitable programs has held an ordinary meeting presided at by Mr. S. Ter-Simonyan, chairman of the commission.
The commission has discussed 10 charitable programs, including: "Free Provision for the 2005-2006 Scientific and Literary Needs of the Republic of Armenia" as implemented by the National Fund for Science and Advanced Technologies, "Support of the activities of the Cosmic Radiation Department of the Yerevan Physics Institute after Alikhanyan," as well as the programs initiated and implemented by the NAS Medical Genetics Center and the Yerevan Physics Institute. The meeting approved the "Armenia" All-Armenian Fund-sponsored projects for the rehabilitation of water-mains in Shahumian, Aighestan and Ivanovo streets of Dilijan town in Tavush marz, the technical oversight of construction work at the first 9 km-long Stepanakert-Karmir Shouka section and the 10-20 km-long stretch of Karmir Shouka-Hadrout section of the North-South Highway in the NKR, as well as the prospection work and feasibility study for the improvements to be carried out in Arthur Mkertchyan and Shemavoni streets of Hadrout town of NKR.
The commission has further approved a program to be implemented by the Armenia branch of "Agapeh" charity in 2005-2008 implying support of the needy families, orphanage children, the elderly, as well as the refugees and the families of the fallen freedom fighters in Kashatagh region of NKR. Under a program implemented by "Diaconia" charity fund, food, clothing and medical assistance will be provided on a monthly basis to vulnerable households and children with one or two parents lost in Yerevan and in the province. The commission has also approved the Holy See-sponsored program for the design and overhaul of St. Nerses the Great medical center.
The meeting has also discussed and endorsed a number of sub-contracts under previously passed projects, as well as 16 projects concerning the import of freight destined to different Armenia-based organizations.
