RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan attended the annual general meeting of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, which met to review the results of scientific and scientific-organizational activities realized by the RA NAS in 2006.
Following the meeting, informing the journalists on the Government's and Prime Minister's future work, Mr. Sargsyan said, in particular: "At this point of time, I do not think that serious changes have to be made in the structure of the Government because only 40 days are left for team work, and our major concern should be to ensure continuity in the operations of the government. Anyway, changes are not envisaged at present."
As to whether there will be changes in the government's program of activity, the Prime Minister said that he did not think that the program ought to be modified. Anyway, a program has to be sent to the National Assembly for consideration. He expressed opinion that following the parliamentary elections, the winning political force, which is supposed to form the government, will have to submit a new program for National Assembly consideration.
Concerning the appointments of RA National Security Council Secretary and Defense Minister, Serzh Sargsyan reserved his forecasts.
The Prime Minister also advised that he planned to meet with academicians and scholars in the near future so as to familiarize with their concerns and problems.
