Today RA Prime Minister A. Margaryan has received the delegation led by Mr. Edward Rossel, Governor of Sverdlovsk Province of the Russian Federation.
In pointing out to the current high level of the Russian-Armenian relationship, both sides expressed confidence that the upcoming visit of the Russian President Vladimir Putin to Armenia and the official opening of the Year of Russia in Armenia by the two presidents would go a long way towards furthering these relationship. Prime Minister A. Margaryan noted that Mr. Rossel's present visit was expected to contribute to the development of bilateral ties between the administrative units of Armenia and Russia. According to him, the existing sound legal framework strong with over 160 interstate and intergovernmental instruments applicable between the two countries was supposed to help expand the cooperation in a variety of fields. The Prime Minister noted with satisfaction that over the past few years Armenia had established strong ties of economic and commercial collaboration with 25 administrative units of Russia, including the agreements signed to this end with the governments of Leningrad, Saratov, Astrakhan, Kirov Provinces, Krasnodar Krai, as well as with Moscow's municipal administration.
