On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of late political figure and founder of the Republican Party of Armenia Mr. Ashot Navasardyan's birth, RA Prime Minister A. Margaryan has paid a visit to Mr. Navasardyan's tomb at Yerhablour cemetery. This was the main reason behind Ashot's and his fellowship's initiative to found a military and political association referred to as the Army of Independence, which together with several other squads of freedom-fighters went a glorious and heroic way towards defending our national dignity and our legitimate right to live in our homeland. With the pen and the gun in either hand, Ashot got through the crossroads of the war.

The search for a sovereign nationhood caused individual efforts to be unified under a single organization with shared ideology and program of action. For, as our comrade used to say: "
