Today RA government commission for coordination of charitable programs has held an ordinary meeting presided at by Mr. S. Ter-Simonyan, chairman of the commission.
The commission has discussed 5 charitable programs. In particular, discussed and approved were: the project for the completion of the second stage of construction of the Trinity Church in Yerevan by the Holy See of Etchmiadzin, 2 projects for construction work in Arabkir community church and in St. Sarkis Church of Nor Nork district of Yerevan. A program to be implemented by Arabkir joint charity fund for children in 2005-2007 will provide for improved conditions for surgical operations and post-operation treatment of patients, renovation of operation facilities and operation wards, the establishment of a modern facility for laparoscopic operations, provision of medical supplies and furniture. Through the implementation of a World Vision International Armenia Office-sponsored project referred to as Introductory Teaching, the necessary conditions will be set up for teaching children at pre-school institutions and schools.
The meeting has also discussed and approved a number of sub-contracts under previously passed projects, as well as 8 projects concerning the import of freight destined to different organizations operating in Armenia, including the Armenia office of the US-based "Medical Aid to Armenians", the local branch of the Organization for Adventist Development and Relief, "Swedish Relief" Medical Association etc.
