Today RA Prime Minister A. Margaryan has received a World Bank delegation led by Mr. Roger Robinson, head of the WB Armenia Office. Discussed were issues concerning the implementation of the 3rd stage of Poverty Reduction Support Facility provided to Armenia by the Bank.
Satisfied with the pace and trends of economic growth in Armenia, the head of the World Bank's Armenia Office emphasized the need in the creation of a solid base to ensure that the present achievements were maintained in future. Among the key objectives set for the 3rd stage of Poverty Reduction Support Facility, Mr. Robinson mentioned the building of a better environment for the development of the private sector, the reforms in the field of corporate management, the measures aimed at rendering Armenia more accessible and open to the outer world and so on. Other members of the delegation, in particular, Mr. Saumia Mitra, head of the mission program for Poverty Reduction Support Facility, Ms. Susan Ruthlege, corporative management coordinator and Mr. Douglas Andrew, expert in infrastructure operations, presented their findings and recommendations with regard to the priorities in support activities for the respective fields.
In prioritizing the need for Armenia to achieve enhanced efficiency in its dealings with the World Bank, Prime Minister A. Margaryan assured the guests of the Armenian government's readiness to continue and further develop the cooperation with this key financial institution.
