RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan received newly appointed Romanian Ambassador to Armenia Krina Rodix Prunariu.

The Prime Minister congratulated and wished every success to Madame Prunariu on the start of her diplomatic mission in our country. Noting that the Armenian-Romanian relationship enjoyed a high pace of development amidst an atmosphere of permanent dialogue, the parties referred to the current status bilateral trade and economic ties. They stated that unlike the activated political intercourse, economic cooperation and trade turnover between the two countries were still far from being satisfactory and failed to reflect the existing potentialities of our countries.

The Romanian Ambassador availed herself of the opportunity to felicitate the Prime Minister on the successful completion of Armenia's parliamentary elections and the victory won by the Republican Party. Madame Prunariu briefed Mr. Sargsyan on the latest political developments in her country and spoke of the referendum to be held later this week.

The Prime Minister of Armenia and the Ambassador of Romania stressed the importance of uniting the efforts of all the countries of the Black Sea region in the drive for the promotion of regional stability and cooperation. In this context, they pointed out to the need of getting Armenia involved in the implementation of EU-supported economic programs.

In conclusion, on behalf of the Government of Armenia and himself, Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan expressed readiness of cooperation to the Ambassador of Romania.
