On May 24, 2007, RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan-led government delegation will leave for Yalta (Ukraine) on a two-day working visit to attend the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government. The government delegation will be comprised of Minister-Chief of Government Staff Manuk Topuzyan, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Gegham Gharibjanyan, RA Permanent Representative in CIS statutory and other bodies Oleg Yesayan, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Ukraine Armen Khachatryan, Authorized Representative of the Republic Armenia in the Commission on Economic Affairs by the CIS Economic Council Artak Vardanyan, senior officials from RA Government Staff and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, other dignitaries.
The Council of Heads of Government will review questions concerning CIS-member States' cooperation in a broad range of spheres. In particular, the meeting will discuss documents bearing on the formation of a common energy market for CIS-member States, joint action against the circulation of counterfeit medical products, the cooperation in the areas of physical training and sports, draft agreements on social and legal guarantees for the personnel of collective peacekeeping forces, on the procedure to follow in the provision of financial, technical and rear support to such personnel, the complex of joint efforts for the prevention of bird flu proliferation on the territories of CIS-member States, the development of draft interstate programs on joint struggle against organized crime and illegal circulation of narcotics, psychotropic substances and precursors for the period 2008 - 2010. Also, there will be discussed several documents concerning the educational sphere and the financing of different bodies and programs, as well as a series of organizational and other issues.
The Council Meeting will be followed by a signing ceremony for the adopted instruments and a joint press conference of heads of government.
