RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan received the delegation led by Polish Minister of Home Affairs and Public Administration Janush Kachmarek. The Prime Minister noted with satisfaction that the Armenian-Polish relations were developing successfully on both bilateral and multilateral levels. He stressed that the European orientation was a priority on Armenia's foreign policy agenda, and the interaction with the European Union provided a sound framework for the deepening of the dialog with EU-member States and benefiting in practice from the opportunities offered by the European Neighborhood Policy. Serzh Sargsyan noted that as a member of the European Union, Poland was seen as Armenia's key partner in its efforts towards closer integration with the European structures. Based thereon, our country was looking forward to Poland's active involvement in the implementation of EU-Armenia Action Plan.

Stating in turn Armenia's important role in the South Caucasian region, the Polish Minister said that, pleased with the expanding bilateral cooperation, Poland was supportive of Armenia's efforts for European integration and was prepared to share the know-how and, if accepted, to provide the necessary follow-up backing. The Minister then provided a detailed description of the terms of reference accorded to and the functions vested in his agency.

Mr. Sargsyan expressed his appreciation of the Polish know-how in public management and local self-government reform and said it would be useful for Armenia to take advantage of Poland's expertise in this field.

The parties emphasized the necessity of establishing a working group to study the structural, functional and other aspects of this question and formulate relevant proposals and recommendations to that effect.

Serzh Sargsyan asked the Minister to bring this approach to the notice of the Polish Prime Minister so as to proceed to the practicalities in case of his counterpart's consent.

Minister Kachmarek congratulated the Prime Minister of Armenia on the successful completion of the parliamentary elections in Armenia, which was witnessed by the findings of the international missions of observers.
