RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan received Asian Development Bank Vice-President Lee Kun Jin.
Mr. Lee Kun Jin conveyed warm greetings and assurances of willingness for cooperation on behalf of the President of the Asian Development Bank. Mr. Lee Kun Jin said to be proud that Armenia was an ADB-member country and that no effort had been spared so far on either side to strengthen bilateral relationship and develop new programs of cooperation. The ADB Vice-President expressed satisfaction at the fact the chief tasks and priorities set out in the GoA program of activities proved in full harmony with the approaches of the Asian Development Bank enabling thereby the Bank's involvement in the poverty reduction and social-economic development programs of Armenia. Mr. Lee Kun Jin further said to be highly impressed by Armenia's economic achievements and, felicitating the head of the GoA to that effect, he noted at the same time that efforts had to be combined on the way to meeting the challenges ahead. Here, he mentioned the rehabilitation of community roads, refurbishment of water supply systems in marzes, the private sector support programs and went on to emphasize that the Bank stood ready to take a share in the implementation of the aforementioned programs, as well as the country's social and economic development efforts.
The Prime Minister of Armenia thanked the guest for cooperation and pointed out to the necessity of getting additional funds for the realization of his government's priority programs, as well as the need of ensuring a well-targeted and effective use of such funds to the benefit of our State and people.
During the meeting, the parties also took the time to discuss in all detail the terms and conditions for the ADB-provided assistance and the possibilities for cooperation expansion.
