RA Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Armenia Ayimdos Bozhigitov.

At the start of the meeting, the Prime Minister congratulated Ambassador Bozhigitov on the establishment of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Armenia, with the opening ceremony to be held tomorrow. In this connection, Mr. Sargsyan expressed hope that the active work of the two countries' diplomatic missions would give a new stimulus to the strengthening bilateral relationship and would promote further development thereof. Ambassador Bozhigitov noted that there were vast opportunities for cooperation and realization of interesting and mutually advantageous projects over which discussions had been held with the Armenian co-chair of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.

The Ambassador took the opportunity to forward Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Karim Masimov's congratulatory message on the occasion of Mr. Sargsyan's appointment to the office of RA Prime Minister, in which confidence was expressed that bilateral relations would be developed on the basis of mutual understanding and that mutually advantageous cooperation would henceforth be promoted to the benefit of the two countries and peoples.

During the meeting, Ayimdos Bozhigitov evoked the 25-thousand-strong Armenian community of Kazakhstan and said that it represented an additional resource for the strengthening of bilateral relationship and cooperation. The parties further noted the importance of cooperating in the framework of international organizations.

By mentioning that extraordinary parliamentary elections were due this August in Kazakhstan, the Ambassador emphasized that Kazakhstan might benefit from familiarization with the experience of Armenia's parliamentary elections, which had won the appreciation of international observers and his colleagues from foreign diplomatic missions in Armenia.

At the close of the meeting, the Prime Minister of Armenia wished Ambassador Aimdos Bozhigitovu every success and reiterated the readiness of his government to spare no efforts for the strengthening of friendship and further deepening of ties between the two countries and peoples.
