Today the RA anti-corruption council, the representatives of the monitoring commission for implementation of anti-corruption strategy and the group of experts from the GRECO have held a joint meeting with Minister, Chief of Government Staff Manouk Topuzyan.
The delegation of GRECO experts, who have arrived in Armenia in the framework of anti-corruption monitoring efforts, is due to have several meetings with the representatives of both the executive and legislative authorities, as well as with the CBA, the General Procuracy, the Office of the Ombudsman, the Civil Service Council, the Council of Presidents of Court, the Supreme Court of Appeal, the Union of Magistrates, a number of non-governmental organizations and the press. Minister, Chief of Government Staff M. Topouzyan, who is on the membership of the anti-corruption council, welcomed the delegation on behalf of the Prime Minister and himself and went on to say that the present mission was quite important as its findings could subsequently be used by the cabinet in pursuit of the anti-corruption strategy which was high on the government's political agenda. The Minister briefed the delegation on the activities of the Prime Minister-headed anti-corruption council, which had been set up by a presidential decree about a year before, the progress in the implementation of the anti-corruption strategy and stressed that, well aware of the threats against the State inherent in corruption, the Armenian authorities had expressed a firm political will of combatting it
